What’s new... 6/11/10 Well, once again it’s been a while since I’ve updated. This usually means things have been more than a little crazy, and this time is no exception. Girls vs. Boys closed at the end of May. I was sad to see that one go as I’d worked on it for the better part of a year. Congrats to everyone on a great run! Working with the House was awesome and I hope to work with them again in the future. During GvB, I composed music for a production of Eric Bogosian’s play Suburbia at Kenyon College, directed by my friend, Ben Vicellio. I didn’t get to actually see the show, but I was told that it was fantastic. I had to teach myself to play guitar to write a few of those tunes. My fingers were killing me, but it was great to learn how to rock some songs out! I’m sure the cast of Suburbia played them much better than I did.  Immediately after GvB closed, I played keys for a production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida for Stage Door Fine Arts in Hinsdale. The band was basically the Girls vs. Boys band, plus a few additional players. It was an awesome time!  Immediately after playing the final performance of Aida, I drove to Cortland, NY where I’m currently music directing The Pajama Game for Cortland Repertory Theatre. This is my 8th show for CRT, and I really enjoy coming out here to work. If you’re in the area, check CRT’s website for showtimes!  Last, but not least - exciting news. The team of Cindy’s Fella has been commissioned by American Eagle Theatre to adapt a new musical version of The Jungle Book to be toured in rep with the company starting this season! Brad, Dave and I are hard at work on the show and can’t wait to get it up on it’s feet in a couple of months! Stay tuned for updates and samples of the music... 3/19/10  Click the pic! It’s that time again! Last summer, I music directed for American Musical Theatre Project at Northwestern University as they developed House Theatre’s new musical, GIRLS VS. BOYS. It was a great time! I’m now working with the House again as they produce GIRLS VS. BOYS on their current season, proper. Good times are again being had by all. The show has come a long way, so if you saw it last summer, you’ll definitely want to see it again. It’s almost a completely different show now! Book and lyrics by Chris Mathews, Jake Minton and Nathan Allen, music by Kevin O’Donnell with Nathan Allen, choreography by Tommy Rapley, music direction by Ethan Deppe. Directed by Nathan Allen. Come check it out! 3/8/10 Wow! It’s been a while since my last update. Things are brewin’ and stewin’. News on all that to come. In the mean time, I’ll be playing percussion for a production of Urinetown the Musical out at Harper College in Palatine. There are six performances: Friday - Sundays, March 11th - 21st. Check Theo Ubique’s Website for showtimes! 11/12/09 I’m playing percussion for Theatre at the Center’s production of The Christmas Schooner! Performances are November 12 - December 20. Come check it out! It’s really a fantastic little show with an AWESOME score! The drive will be worth it! Check Theatre at the Center’s Website for times!  10/18/09 I’m doing another production of Man of LaMancha! That’s two in a row. What?! This one is for Theo Ubique, and this time I’m music directing. It was so wonderful to have so much support from the Chicago theatre community! Special thanks to Signal Ensemble for providing the space for the reading, The Right Brain Project for providing us with a rehearsal space, the wonderful group of actors who so generously donated their time and talents and our music director, Tom Vendafreddo for putting up with my crazy music. 4/27/09 CINDY’S FELLA will have its second reading on May 4th! 2/28/09 I’ll be playing the percussion book for Apple Tree Theatre’s upcoming production of Wings. Performances are March 11 - April 5. Doug Peck is the Music Director and Tim Splain will be conducting the shows. Wings has a very unique story and absolutely FANTASTIC music. Come see it!
